When you are seeking balance in your life, it is important not to take on too much of anything. Not too much emotion. Not too many potato chips. Not too much exercise. Not too much of ANYTHING.
Easier said than done, I know. Because if you handed me a pint of Cherry Garcia, I would probably eat my words.
Moderation is king.
The other day my 6-year-old son asked me which is healthier, pizza or pickles?
After running through some scenarios in my head, including an internal debate as to whether or not pickles are fermented (usually not, btw), I gave him a generic (yet true) answer: “Buddy, the best thing to do is eat a little bit of everything.”
True.
So true.
Set reasonable limits and avoid extremes.
Or, if you decide to practice moderation in moderation and occasionally stray the course, be prepared for and accept the fallout, whatever that may be. After all, life is worth living. Just be sure to make moderation the rule instead of the exception.
