When in doubt, write.
You can write about anything. You can write about the day’s events, covering every nook and cranny in finite detail. Or you can write about a trip you once took.
Fiction. Nonfiction. Memoir. Whatever. It doesn’t matter.
Just start typing. Put pen to paper. The method doesn’t matter. What matters is using this technique to short circuit your brain and distract yourself from whatever is plaguing your mind. Writing is a great way to keep the peace. Equanimity achieved.
Make lists. Plan a calendar. Write a thank you note.
Remind yourself of what you are thankful for.
Journaling is a gift that keeps on giving.
