When I wake up in the morning, I smile.
That doesn’t mean I always wake up happy. Or that smiling is the first thing that pops into my brain.
But I do it. Everyday. No matter what.
I smile, feel grateful for another day, and take a few deep breaths.
This routine can take 15 seconds or a few minutes. But it’s a wonderful way to start the day.
The early morning smile also sets the stage for more smiling to come. After all, the benefits of smiling are plentiful, especially when it comes to maintaining equanimity. Plus, it is easier to stay balanced when you attract other positive people.
